What We Do

UX, 2D and 3D Design for Audio Software

Edge Audio Labs designs the whole experience of a plugin or audio app: flows, 2D layouts and photorealistic 3D skins, engineered to render fast inside real-time audio.

Why It's Different

A plugin UI has to be beautiful and cheap to draw while audio runs underneath, and usable in the middle of a session, not just pretty in a screenshot. Research, design and implementation come from the same team, so the look never costs performance.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Edge Audio Labs work on user experience, or only the visual design?

Both. Edge Audio Labs designs the experience, the interface and the implementation together: session-aware UX for how a musician actually uses a plugin, not just how it looks in a screenshot.

Does Edge Audio Labs design the plugin interface, or only build one I already have?

Both. Edge Audio Labs designs and implements plugin and app interfaces in the same team, from user flows and 2D layouts to photorealistic 3D skins, so the design is built with the frame budget of real-time audio in mind from the first mockup.

Will a custom 3D plugin skin slow the plugin down?

Not if it is built for it. Edge Audio Labs renders 3D plugin skins in OpenGL, engineered to stay smooth while the audio engine processes underneath, rather than dropped in as a static asset.
