Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Edge Audio Labs, LLC is an audio software development studio organized in the United States and based in St. Petersburg, Florida. We are the company responsible for the personal information described in this policy. For any question about it, or about your data, write to hello@edgeaudiolabs.com.

2. What this policy covers

This policy applies to the Site and to the conversations you start from it. It does not cover information we handle for a client as part of a development project, which is governed by our agreement with that client (and, where there is one, the NDA). It also does not cover other websites we link to, such as LinkedIn, Instagram, Upwork or our call scheduler, which have their own privacy policies.

3. Information you give us

• Contact form. Your name, your company name, your email address, the type of project you describe, your message, and whether you asked us to sign an NDA. When you submit the form we also record your IP address and your browser's user agent with it, only to block spam and limit abuse of the form.
• Booking a call. If you schedule a call through our booking page, which is run by Pipedrive, we receive your name, your email address and anything you write in the booking form.
• Email and calls. Anything you send us by email or share with us in a call.

4. Information we collect automatically

We measure how the Site is used so we can improve it. Our own analytics record which pages were viewed, how long each page was read, where the visit came from, your approximate location (country and city) and the browser, operating system and device type reported by our servers.

Our analytics do not store your IP address. Your approximate location is derived from the connection by our hosting provider, and the IP address itself is not saved with the visit. Visits are grouped under a random identifier kept in your own browser's storage; that identifier is not linked to your name unless you choose to contact us. These records are deleted automatically after 24 months.

Like any website, our hosting provider also processes your IP address and basic request data to deliver the pages to you and to keep the Site secure, and keeps short technical logs of those requests.

5. Cookies and third-party services

Some of the measurement on the Site is done by third parties, which means those companies receive data about your visit and may set cookies in your browser:

• Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager, for traffic statistics.
• Meta Pixel, for measuring and targeting our advertising on Facebook and Instagram. It sets a cookie that lets Meta recognise your browser, and if you are logged in to a Meta account, Meta can connect that browser to your account.
• Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that our contact form is being submitted by a person and not a bot.
• YouTube, for embedded videos. We use the privacy-enhanced player, so YouTube does not set tracking cookies unless you press play.

Each of these companies handles that data under its own privacy policy.

The Site does not currently show a cookie consent banner. If you would rather not be measured, most browsers let you block third-party cookies, and browser extensions that block advertising trackers will stop the Meta Pixel and Google Analytics from loading at all. Google also offers an opt-out browser add-on for Google Analytics. None of this affects how the Site works.

6. How we use your information

• To reply to you, discuss the project you wrote about, prepare a proposal and, if we work together, manage that relationship.
• To follow up by email about your inquiry. You can ask us to stop at any time.
• To run the Site, keep it secure and protect the contact form from spam and abuse.
• To understand how the Site is used and improve it.
• To measure and target our advertising.
• To comply with the law and to protect our rights.

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on these legal bases: taking steps at your request before entering into a contract (answering your inquiry), our legitimate interests (running, securing, measuring and improving the Site and growing our business), your consent where the law requires it, and compliance with legal obligations.

7. How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in these cases:

• Service providers that process it on our behalf and under our instructions: website hosting (Vercel), our database (Neon), spam protection (Cloudflare), email and documents (Google Workspace), our CRM and call scheduler (Pipedrive), and internal team messaging (Slack).
• The analytics and advertising services listed in section 5.
• Legal requirements, when we are required to by law, or to protect our rights, our users or others.
• Business transfers, if Edge Audio Labs is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
• With your consent, in any other case.

8. International transfers

Edge Audio Labs is based in the United States, and most of our service providers store data there. Members of our team may also access it from the other countries where they work. If you are outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in countries whose data protection laws may differ from yours. Where the law requires it, we rely on appropriate safeguards for those transfers, such as the standard contractual clauses offered by our providers.

9. How long we keep it

• Analytics records: 24 months, then deleted automatically.
• Contact form submissions and correspondence: as long as we need them to answer you and for any work relationship that follows, plus whatever period the law requires for our records. You can ask us to delete them sooner.
• Hosting logs: a short period, as set by our hosting provider.

10. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information: the Site is served only over encrypted connections, and access to contact submissions is limited to the team members who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live (for example, in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or some US states such as California), you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, receive a copy of it, object to or restrict how we use it, and withdraw any consent you gave us. We honor these requests for everyone, wherever you are.

To make a request, write to hello@edgeaudiolabs.com. We will answer within 30 days, and we may need to confirm your identity first. We will not treat you differently for exercising your rights. If you are in the EEA or the UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.

To opt out of Meta's advertising tracking specifically, you can also use the ad preferences in your Facebook or Instagram account.

12. Children

The Site is meant for businesses and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.

13. Changes to this policy

If we change what we collect or which services we use, we will update this page and the date at the top. If the change is significant, we will also point it out on the Site.
